Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language lessons aligned with the British curriculum, catering to students of varying language proficiency levels.
- Design, implement, and evaluate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that foster active learning and critical thinking in students.
- Incorporate interactive teaching methods, including audio-visual aids and technology, to enhance the language acquisition process.
- Develop and monitor students’ progress in speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills in Spanish.
- Promote cultural awareness and appreciation for Spanish-speaking countries through projects, activities, and events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Spanish language instruction into interdisciplinary projects and school activities.
- Provide individual support and tailored learning plans for students needing extra assistance in Spanish.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, preparing reports and discussing results with parents and school administration.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching strategies.
- Ensure adherence to the school’s policies and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and classroom management.
Job Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
- Teaching Certification:
- A valid teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching Spanish, preferably within a British curriculum school.
- Experience teaching students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Language Proficiency:
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
- Proficiency in English to effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with modern language teaching tools, technology, and methodologies.
- Passion for language teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Additional Preferences:
- Knowledge of the British curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Experience in integrating cultural studies and extracurricular activities related to Spanish.
