A prestigious British curriculum school in Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food Design Teacher to join our creative arts and design department. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore the art, science, and innovation of food, combining practical cooking skills with design principles in line with the UK National Curriculum for Food Preparation and Nutrition
You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering creativity, and developing students’ understanding of healthy eating, sustainability, and global food trends.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Preparation & Nutrition, aligned with the British curriculum standards.
- Introduce students to food design concepts, including plating, presentation, and creative menu development.
- Teach the practical and theoretical aspects of cooking, food safety, nutrition, and sustainability.
- Organise and assess project-based learning activities, such as designing and testing innovative food products.
- Integrate cross-curricular links with art, design, and science subjects.
- Prepare students for GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level examinations in Food Preparation & Nutrition.
- Maintain safe and hygienic practices in the food technology classroom in compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations.
- Stay updated with current food industry trends, healthy eating initiatives, and modern culinary techniques.
- Support extracurricular activities such as cookery clubs, food styling workshops, and school events.
Qualifications – Food Design Teacher
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, Culinary Arts, or a related field (PGCE or QTS essential).
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a British curriculum school (preferably in the UAE or GCC).
- Demonstrated experience in Food Design, Culinary Arts, or Food Product Development.
- Strong knowledge of GCSE/IGCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition syllabus.
- Certification or training in food safety (HACCP Level 2 or above).
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to integrate creative design thinking into the food curriculum.
- Culturally responsive teaching approach, adaptable to a diverse student community.
