Job Responsibilities
- Food Safety and Quality Compliance:
- Ensure food products served in the school meet Dubai Municipality’s food safety and quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of food storage, preparation, and serving areas to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, and GMP standards.
- Vendor and Supplier Audits:
- Evaluate and audit food suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality specifications.
- Review supplier certifications and quality documentation regularly.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of food safety audits, inspections, and incident reports.
- Ensure timely updates and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Staff Training and Awareness:
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions for cafeteria staff and food handlers.
- Promote awareness of food safety policies and best practices among stakeholders.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate food-related complaints or incidents and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Report and liaise with Dubai Municipality or other regulatory bodies when required.
- Quality Monitoring:
- Conduct sensory and physical tests on delivered food items to ensure quality.
- Monitor food handling processes to prevent contamination and wastage.
- Improvement Initiatives:
- Recommend and implement strategies for continuous improvement in food quality and safety.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to enhance food service standards.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a similar role, preferably in the education or food services industry.
- Certifications:
- HACCP Level 3 or higher (mandatory).
- Certification in Food Safety from Dubai Municipality is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
