Job Responsibilities:
The Teacher Assistant will play a key supportive role in ensuring a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Working closely with the Head Teacher and classroom teachers, the assistant will help maintain the high educational standards outlined by the curriculum. Responsibilities include:
Classroom Preparation and Organization:
- Assist in the preparation of daily and weekly lesson plans in collaboration with the lead teacher.
- Organize and set up educational materials and learning resources required for class activities.
- Design and decorate classroom bulletin boards and displays to create a stimulating learning environment.
- Prepare teaching aids, props, and resources for specific lessons, including language and creative sessions.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and safety standards before and after class sessions.
Instructional Support:
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts introduced by the teacher.
- Support remedial teaching for students needing additional academic assistance.
- Execute engaging and age-appropriate lessons in a specific language for children aged 0 to 6 years.
- Facilitate basic language communication exercises and activities to enhance students’ understanding and usage.
Student Supervision and Development:
- Escort and supervise children during school hours, including outdoor activities, field trips, and meal breaks.
- Monitor and track student attendance, punctuality, and class participation.
- Help students adjust to the school environment, promoting positive behavior, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
- Support the teacher in observing and assessing students’ performance, behavior, and developmental progress.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Provide feedback to the Head Teacher and parents on students’ progress in specific language and learning milestones.
- Work cooperatively with fellow educators to implement school-wide policies, programs, and special events.
- Participate actively in workshops, parent-teacher meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular school activities.
Job Qualifications:
- Proficiency in a specific language (spoken and written) for delivering lessons to young learners.
- Proven experience as a teacher assistant or in a similar educational support role, preferably with early childhood education.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning pedagogies.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Creative and artistic skills to design engaging materials and classroom setups.
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with young children and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer literacy for managing attendance records and lesson material preparation.
Education Requirement:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate or commute reliably to Sharjah (mandatory).
